Invitation to a Weekend Workshop
As a storyboard artist over the last 30 years, Lizza has seen the work of all the greats in the animation business worldwide, and it is clear that they all have a skill in common that is often overlooked by teachers down here in the Deep South:
aerial perspective.
The aim of this weekend workshop is to learn and teach this skill: to learn it with each other and help create teaching aids for future workshops.
YOU WILL NEED:
In addition to your usual drawing kit, you will need 2 ink pens, one thinner and one thicker.
We recommend a 0.2mm and a 0.8mm pen from the UNI PIN FINE LINE brand, available in any PNA
Below are images exhibiting an understanding of aerial perspective by as many as we could find of the greats from Japan, China, Europe and America: Hokusai, Hergé, Da Vinci, Gainsborough, Van Gogh, Pierneef, Luc Tuymans, Marlene Dumas, Goscinny and Uderzo, Bill Watterson (Calvin and Hobbes), Animé gaming renderers, ShadowMachine (makers of Bojack Horseman), Zapiro and Chip Snaddon.
